Scope of Work
The project required a highly controlled approach to selective demolition, concrete cutting, breaking, and removal, with strict attention to protecting existing MEP systems and building infrastructure designated to remain in place.
The work involved the complete interior demolition of Suite 100B (2,207 square feet) and the Kitchen Area (3,331 square feet). Our team removed non-structural walls, finishes, and equipment while maintaining the integrity of the surrounding building systems and areas required to remain operational.
Comprehensive Demolition and Concrete Removal
The project scope included:
- Complete interior selective demolition
- Bathroom demolition
- Removal of air ducts and air-handling equipment
- Torching and removal of a catwalk
- Removal of empty oil tanks and an elephant door
- Concrete cutting, breaking, and removal of unforeseen concrete curbs discovered beneath partition walls
- Material stockpiling and debris management to maintain an organized and efficient work area
Selective demolition requires more than simply removing existing materials. It requires careful planning, coordination, and the experience to respond efficiently when unforeseen conditions are discovered in the field. The unexpected concrete curbs required our team to safely perform the necessary concrete cutting and removal while maintaining the project’s progress.
Skilled Union Labor and Specialized Equipment
As a Union Signatory Contractor, Fast Forward Concrete Cutting brought experienced union labor and the right equipment to support this complex commercial demolition project.
The crew consisted of:
- One Foreman
- Five Laborers
- One Apprentice
The team was supported by two scissor lifts, electric jackhammers, specialized concrete cutting and demolition equipment, and multiple debris bins, including 40-yard and 10-yard bins, to maintain efficient material handling and site cleanliness.
